The 1,200 square metre data centre is located in Guian, the capital of\u00a0Guizhou Province, and its neighbours will include Apple, Alibaba, IBM and other tech giants.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai added that this new datacentre will lay the foundation for building a\u00a0China-focused \u2018Car Cloud\u2019,\u00a0using the company\u2019s expertise in connected car technologies gathered through several years of experience with its Car Cloud operation in Korea, established in 2013.<\/p>\n<h3>Global network<\/h3>\n<p>The new facility is planned to be the first of a future global network of big data hubs that build on the foundations of the company\u2019s domestic big data centre in Uiwang,\u00a0South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside opening its new Big Data Center, Hyundai also signed a memorandum of understanding with China Unicom,\u00a0China\u2019s\u00a0second-largest telecommunications provider, to co-develop a predictive analytics platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHyundai Motor\u2019s know-how in big data analysis coupled with\u00a0Guizhou Province\u2019s\u00a0strong push into big data, will surely accelerate development in connected car technologies as well as better enable us to cater to our customer\u2019s needs,\u201d\u00a0said Seung-Ho Hwang, executive vice president and head of the Auto Intelligence Division at Hyundai Motor Company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy successfully operating our newest facility in\u00a0China, we will set new standards in the big data industry and advance Hyundai Motor\u2019s IT leadership among automotive manufacturers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, the company partnered with Cisco, with the aim of creating hyper-connected, \u2018intelligent\u2019 cars.
